Dedicated to excellence, Heartland Youth Choir develops musicianship and builds character of youth through the rehearsal and performance of quality choral literature. Heartland Youth Choir (HYC) is celebrating its 21st year, providing performance-based youth programming, emphasizing musical literacy and character development since 2003!

Heartland Youth Choir was founded by Barbara Sletto in 2003. HYC offered its first program, “The Heartland Youth Choir Camp” with 45 youth singers.  Today, the organization serves over 150 youth choir members and offers multiple programs set up to provide music education opportunities to hundreds of Iowa youth throughout the year!

To continue to grow, serve, and prosper we need support from people like you! Primary funding is derived from tuition, grants, and fundraising. Striving to keep costs low, HYC provides support to singers who cannot afford registration and/or uniform costs. No family is turned away because of their inability to pay, ensuring all youth can experience high-quality, hands-on music education opportunities.

Please consider playing a major role in making high-quality music education accessible to all children and join Heartland Youth Choir in celebrating the 21st year of providing musical excellence!
