Open Rehearsals in September

Heartland Youth Choir will host two weeks of open rehearsals in September. It's a great way to learn more about HYC and its members -- and it's a lot of fun! The rehearsals are free, and young singers from age 4 to grade 12 from all around Central Iowa are welcome to attend. Rehearsals are held at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church at 1240 66th Street. Watch for the Heartland Youth Choir singers in the Beaverdale Fall Festival Parade on Saturday, September 21. The parade starts at 10 a.m. Say hello and sing along with us as we pass by!

Central Iowa singers in grades 5 - 12 are invited to register for a day of fun and music at the Totally Treble Festival or the Guys Power Sing. Both events will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Des Moines. And both events will feature area a cappella groups with new music written just for the festivals! Click on the images above for more information.    Deadline for registration is October 15, so don’t delay!

Heartland Youth Choir, founded by Barbara Sletto in 2003, provides a performance-based program for youth, emphasizing musical literacy and character development.

Heartland Youth Choir provides a unique opportunity for children of diverse backgrounds with a particular aptitude in vocal music to explore that interest beyond their school setting. Quality literature from all styles and periods form the foundation for this exploration.
