Land of Lakes Choirboys Visit

The Land of Lakes Choirboys will join the Heartland Youth Choir for a concert on Tuesday, June 28, at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, 1240 66th St. The concert is one of the final performances on a tour that will take the Minnesota singers to Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Iowa.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public; a free-will offering will be taken. For more information, contact the Heartland Youth Choir: office@joinhyc.org.

The Land of Lakes Choirboys program, now in its fourth decade, has received a number of national and international awards. Extensive training, based on the Royal School of Church Music’s Voice for Life program, guides the singers in the areas of music theory, sight singing and ear training, and intense vocal studies. In addition to their musical studies, the singers learn about leadership, appropriate behavior, and traditional manners. Boys as young as 5 years old can enter the program.

The Land of Lakes Choirboys perform for audiences around the world. Locally, the choir gives an average of 25 concerts each season. They perform music by the great masters, but also music from Broadway and folksongs from around the world.
